To the chick that continually yells, whoops, and screams in the right chanel of the Albany bootleg: Thanks for completely annoying me throughout the entire show.

i was behind 2 idiots in hartford that tried to do that. only they'd wait till it got quiet, then yell, thinking they were gonna hear themselves on the bootleg.

Damnit! Is it completely obvious or just with headphones? I'm pretty sure that's the setlist I wanna hear so it's at the top of my bootlegs to purchase when my direct deposit hits Friday.

I might have to change my mind...

No, you should get it. Great show and setlist! But, you definitley hear the same chick between every single song. It is a bit of a drag.

I do hear her though, whether on my computer, car stereo, or home stereo....all without headphones.

Oh alright...but thanks for the heads up. I've got plenty of fan made boots with a single or couple screamers that ruin it completely. Nothing worse if it overtakes part/s of the songs all night.

Besides...What other show has Army Reserve? GREAT SONG!!

Yeah I heard her and it annoyed me too, but it's not nearly as bad as the chick doing the "war cry" type scream at the Missoula show in 2003 (goes like this: AH-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-LEW!!!!!!!). My first Pearl Jam show and it was somewhat annoying during the show and even worse when I listened to the bootleg. Oh well, some people. I still cringe when I hear it.

Ahhh, I fucking hate that. In the Astoria there was this Eastern European girl behind me who was screaming right in my ear 'JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF' the whole fucking time  . If I was deaf after that concert it wasn't because of the noise level from the band

First I was gonna defend her thinking that people have the right to enjoy themselves and shout/sing/whatever because its a concert but this new wave of bootlegging that Pearl Jam has pioneered has presented a new annoyance: people making noise to DELIBERATELY be heard on bootlegs. Yeah those people need to be killed

Trying to make the boot is sorta lame, but if you make the boot on accident, its sorta cool. You can hear me yelling 'LEASH' before crazy mary in Albany.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

That same guy screams out "Eddie you fucking Rock" right in between songs at one point...which was actually kind of funny.

I forget where it was exactly, maybe somewhere in the West or Midwest during the 2003 tour, but there is a boot that has what I referred to as the "mad whistler". This person whistled like I don't know what for almost the entire boot. Now that was annoying!

Yelling in a concert voice I can take, but whistilng the songs from the first few rows, now that is just plain wrong!

  • I remember at the 2nd MSG show in 2003 there were these to guys from another country that keep saying Eddie Eddie Eddie! I thought I was funny at 1st but got annoying fast. The Albany chick I thought was kinda sexy she a good screamer.

The one thing I hate more is when people say that was them on the boot. But the guy who says freak and the end of the 1st encore was me. I started the freak chant and even got a drop the freak in there somewhere. I just had to contradict myself for a sec.

Yeah, gets kinda bad coming from Stones side after every damn song, gotta turn it down just to keep from blowing my right eardrum, but right back up when the songs start...wish the bitch would have lost her voice. I would have hated to sit beside her.

It probably wasn't even somebody trying to get on the boot. More likely it was just some dumb ass teenie bopper that won tickets on the radio. I was at Albany and I couldn't believe how many stupid Brittney Spears looking underage girls there were. At a bar, I'm cool with that. At Pearl Jam, no way. Don't fuck with my Pearl Jam show.

  • I hate the audience crap on the Benaroya CD... that's the biggest drawback to seeing PJ in a small intimate venue (other than ticket-stress LOL) - idiots shouting at the band because they know EVERYONE in the place can hear them. The only good shout-out in the Benaroya show is the guy who shouted GO CUBBIES because the team had just made it into some playoff series for the first time in forever. So that was a good one. But the rest were stupid (i.e. the one to Matt saying "I like your tie".... effin' knob!!) and just made me cringe at the time. I don't mind people who start clapping before the song is over because they don't know better, but the shout-outs make me a little crazy
Anyway, other than the Letterman webcast Leash thing, it seems like the band studiously ignores every single shout out these days... I say good job not rewarding that behavior :)
... wish the world could go again with love ...
  • The girl didn't bother me. It made me feel kind of like I was there, as a concert experiences often includes people like her around you. I was more perturbed by the mix of the boot, namely the lowness of Mike's guitar, than anything else.

With the official bootlegs, the only audible fan noise I've heard that really annoyed me was a guy singing along with the guitar intro of Breath on Mansfield (Boston) 3 '03. I never noticed it until listening to the boot on a friend's superior stereo and ever since I've found it really annoying, though I probably would have been singing right along with the guy if I'd been there so I don't blame him. I'm just glad my lousy singing wasn't picked up on the KC '03 boot, other than somewhere in the crowd of people singing the first verse of "Betterman".
