My God does this song touch the soul.

I thank you for being there Mr. Vedder. Your words, your passion, your soul...put into every word sung.

I can't help but get choked up listening to the sounds of this perfect song.

It's 2:56 am right now and for some reason..it's really hitting me.

I love the uplifting mood of this song AND the way Ed's voice sounds so full and vibrant.

I love it too. I like to play it really loud in the car and sing along - and always feel a little more hopeful after having done so. "Our future's paved with better days." It's gotta be true. Ed said so. :D
And the sun it may be shining . . . but there's an ocean in my eyes

has PJ played this live or just EV? EV probably has done this 3-4 times live so far.

I will be quite happy if this makes it to an encore this tour in the fall.

I have the same experience with this one. It gets so intense that I have to hear it again right away. I don't think I've ever heard it without hitting repeat. Beautiful

This song got me through a rough patch in my life, a couple of years back. That crescendo of emotion starting at 2:17, that doesn't fuckin' let up 'til the end of the song, gets me every single time. Did he ever play it live?

I wonder where he got the inspiration for the song title? hmmmm

Better Days Pearl Jam Amsterdam 26-06-12

and Bruce Springsteen also has a song called Better Days, in fact there are a whole bunch of songs named Better Days, so it would of been easy to miss a song by the same title as a song they covered, but having said that I do like the song

Yeah, I think many people have missed this song because Eat, Pray, Love is a bad movie (as well as kind of a chick flick), but it is a pretty good song. :)

    Hey Whispering Hands...

You are right this is a cover. But OP was actually talking about EV solo song Better Days on Eat, Pray, Love soundtrack. Check the link in the original post.

yeah I know that, but since Pearl Jam had already covered a song with the exact same name, that is why many of us missed it, and if you go back and read the whole post instead of picking one line out, it is obvious that is what I meant

The song...or at least some variation of it...originates before the Eat Pray Love soundtrack. It was an outtake during the Riot Act sessions. I would imagine this is similar to what Ed has done in the past...has a song idea and doesn't quite get it done...shelves it...and then picks it up and finishes at a later time. To me the ending of this song is one of EV's best when it comes to his solo work.
