    Such a waste. I guess he was like grunge/alternative's howard hughs for the last five years of his life.

    I heard his body wasn't discovered until two weeks after death because his accountant noticed no money was being spent. To die so alone and in such poor health is just depressing as all get out.

    In other news, happy birthday mike. :-) I wonder if he'll tag 'River of Deceit' at the end of Ledbetter for the final South American show or something special like that.

    Too sad. When i saw the headline that morning (April 20th) I had a feeling already of who it was. "Body Found in Seattle Rock Star's Home".

    I was lucky enough to email back and forth with his mom in the weeks after his death and I remember a package showing up at my door from her. It was a funeral program and a whole bunch of other papers about Layne. He came from a very nice family. I hope they've found peace in the fact that he's no longer suffering. Such a badass voice and such a truly funny guy.

    I keep thinking about what Mike said a few weeks ago. Would he have kids now? Would he have cleaned up? RIP.

    Kurt died in 1994. Layne was 2002.

    i know for sure that Mike and Layne hadn't spoken in years but yeah that sucks. April 5th is a weird day for Seattle.
