I couldn't believe it: at the SNL after party, I got a chance to meet and talk to Ed for a solid 10 minutes. It was amazing, and I posted this back on April 17th (see http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=180377&page=2):
"I met Ed last night and joked that they should retire Leash. He said "it's a good song though" with a smile. I also told him they should open some shows with Severed Hand. He said that the intro can't be played like it is on the record. I said they should have the intro play on the PA as they walk on stage and then go in the song. He seemed to consider it. Not sure if it's a good idea or not though."
I couldn't FUCKING BELIEVE it when that is excatly how they opened in Hartford (I had also told him I was going to that show). Coincidence or not, it's fucking cool that I talked to him about it and that's the way they did. He seemed to ponder the idea when I told him. It put a big old face on my face at the start of the show, that's for sure.
