The "Forums Positivity" Thread

Consider me Richard Simmons...this place needs to lighten up, liven up, and remember that we all waste countless minutes/hours/days on here, the message board of our favorite band. Sure there are things to bitch about or debate over, but come on, the biggest reason we're all here is because this shit is supposed to be fun. So debate away, but remember: if it's the music, the tours, the memories and the friendships that keep us coming back here, then why now u all bitching??? (thanks Dimi):mrgreen::mrgreen:

With that in mind...

Here are 3 PJ-related things that are fucking great.

1. The live version of "Breakerfall"
2. The poster from the 2008 MSG show, with the animals and tree going after the hunter (I have that as a shirt and poster)
3. When the opening chords of "Baba O'Riley" started at Amsterdam 2, I screamed really loud and my wife laughed in my face about it, and then we slapped high-5s and it was fucking awesome.

OK...now you go. Remember...positive things. :D:D:D

    1. Seeing the "Welcome to Wisconsin" sign last year.
    2. Seeing the look on my wife's face during her first PJ show (Austin 2009) & her saying afterwards "Wow. I get it now."
    3. Meeting so many people at shows, making new friends in person & on the board. Feeling like a very small part of an awesome community.

    Random PJ things:

    1. Driving on the highway and I see a YIELD license plate- honk and give the guy a thumbs up :!:
    2. After a rough day at work and I put on Daughter/It's O.K. from Touring Band 2000 and suddenly everything is O.k.
    3. Driving in the car with my daughter, who is 23, and we are both rockin out to a Pearl Jam song with the sound way up on the radio

All good and all positive :P

the magic moment when you first hear that fancy John Cage music over the P.A.

the blue skies and fluffy clouds that served as the backdrop to the sidestages at PJ20 once the rain stopped

the great vibes when meeting PJ fans from around the world at a 10C gathering, especially those who are almost as quirky as me!

1.) PJ20 at Alpine Valley being probably one of the greatest experiences of my life (thank you 10c for lottery 9th row front and center night 1) and the resulting boots and set that we will get (hopefully)
2.) After a long day at work, putting on the head phones and throwing in a boot with a glass of a nice stiff drink - nothing better.
3.) Sharing the love for PJ's music on here with so many people across the world for those outsiders who just can't seem to grasp the significance of PJ music.

the fans feeding off the band and the band feeding off the fans at a show. Like the fans are Yin and and the band on stage is Yang. Things keep growing where it just gets louder, better, and just awesome

Trust me, you ain't the first ladies to wanna see me in short-shorts...am I right? Ladies, am I right?

I don't have a facebook, or know how to crop and paste or anything like that, so you know, I'm kind of short, with dark shaggy hair, and brownish eyes, and pretty good quads, and I wear shorts a lot...starting to sound familiar? No? Well imagine this:

Great thread! Of course, started by a Minnestoan ;)

    1. Hearing a PJ song (radio, tv, movie, bar, club, store, elevator, sporting event, etc) and always stoping, and feeling my ears perk up (usually accompanied by a friend's / co-worker's / stranger's eyeroll).

    2. Dusting off the flannel that I have had since I was 15 and have worn to all my PJ shows. (That reminds me, I have to locate it before Montana!)

    3. Anytime I hear Black - best song EVER!

Last year, flying up to Vancouver, meeting some of the nicest damn people I've ever met outside the Pacific Coliseum during Pearl Jam's soundcheck. I don't get to see the changing seasons since I moved to Arizona, and being in Vancouver in late September, outside of my element, getting ready to see my favorite band... just a damn good memory.

...and then they opened with Small Town... it was like, "Good to see you again, man."

    1. I first arrived in Australia on the morning of November 19th, 2006. That afternoon I got the train from Sydney to Newcastle to see PJ play an unbelievable set. Six days later in Sydney I met a really cool group of people through a mutual friend and we started talking about music. One of the girls in particular was a big PJ fan and had been to 2 of the Sydney shows the previous week.
Now it's almost 6 years later, we've been together for 5 and a half of those years and married for the last 2 of them!

    2. The Newcastle poster, one of my favourite shows and one of my favourite posters:

    1. A brand-new set of headphones, Audio Technica ATH-M30. Great deal online for less than $38, no shipping.
    2. Taking a break from bootlegs for a while.
    3. Listening to Pearl Jam album (any album, but I had to start with Binaural) with my new headphones.

Whoa, what is that...is that the drumbeat of W.M.A.? Oh yeah!
