Lost dogs 2 / Stray Cats and other outtakes

...or Lost Cats (1) or Stray Cats

Are there any rumors of the other Gigaton songs that Evans mentioned?

With all the waiting for the new album going on and some serious (European) Pearl Jam and Ed Vedder concert withdrawals, I thought it might be fun to compile the new Lost Dogs 2 compilation, which will hopefully surface someday. (Especially because we saw no b-sides since ST.) So let your imagination and wishlist going...

The songs I hope will make the cut (updated):

- Angel
- Face of Love
- Leatherman
- Man of the Hour (demo)
- Speed of Sound (demo)
- Cold Concession/ Confession (ST sessions)
- 2x4 (ST sessions)
- Let it Ride (ST sessions)
- Chinese (demo)
- Wishing well
- Ole
- Hide Your Love Away
- Crazy Mary
- I've Got A Feeling
- Leatherman II
- Lukin (slow version, with strings, with a whole orchestra - punk meets classic)
- Of the Earth (ST sessions)
- Life at the Point of Now (ST sessions)
- Santa Cruz
- Santa God
- Don't Believe in Christmas
- Sonic Reducer
- Someday at Christmas (for they included some christmas singles on the first Lost Dogs)
- Against the Seventies
- No More
- Golden State
- I'm Still Here
- Last Soldier (studio version)
- Life at the Point of Now (ST sessions)
- Transcendental Mental Clarity
- Catholic Boys
- Wishing Well (demo)
- Sunburn (demo)
- Outta My Mind (b-side)
- Happy When Im Crying (xmas single 1997)
- Fuck Me In The Brain (xmas single 1993)
- Olympic Platinum (xmas single 1996)
- Anything in Between (with lyrics)
- Leash (slow version)
- Falling down (studio version, holiday single 2010)
- The lonesome road
- That feel
- Cant Deny Me

Unconfirmed:

The Little Word (inside Lost Dogs (1) booklet)
The Big Word (inside Lost Dogs (1) booklet)
April Bear (Riot Act sessions)
Backfire (Riot Act sessions)
Better Days (Riot Act sessions - supposedly different than the Ed Vedder solo song)
Code Red (Riot Act sessions)
Don't Follow (Riot Act sessions)
Faster (Riot Act sessions)
Had Enough (Riot Act sessions)
Islands (Riot Act sessions - quite curious about this one)
It's Too Late (Riot Act sessions)
Keep Goin' (Ten sessions)
Levels (Riot Act sessions)
Meteorologist (Riot Act sessions)
No Good Reason (Riot Act sessions)
Searchlight (Riot Act sessions)
Spin Cycle (Riot Act sessions)
I Won't (mentioned)
To Our Home (ST-session)
Dawn (McCready) (ST-session)
Echoes (Vedder/Gossard/McCready/Ament/Cameron) (ST-session)
Alarms Of Nautical (Gossard) (ST-session)
The Streets (Vedder) (ST-session)
Thank you (ST-sessions)
10 billion years
Open door

Mind you: all these songs could be changed into later (official) songs with different titles. These are just known demo's or outtakes

And I know there is more...

Put Pusherman on there. So much music we will never hear, frustrating.

Poweless I am not sure, but Cold Concession and 2x4 were on the original tracklist of ST. Now mind you, it could be that they changed the names and 2x4 could be Big Wave - so far as I know... There were a few other tracks actually (at the time) mentioned once in an interview... I thought I read somewhere that Cold Concession was a twenty minute jam. (Read a similar thing about Love Boat Captain though.) And after having heard the live version of Of the Earth, I am quite curious about the jam sessions they had during this period for the guitar solo of Of the Earth (live version) is excellent...

And please, please lets constrict Stray Cats 1 (love that title) to studio versions only...

Against the 70's, Ole, Leatherman, Hide Your Love Away - yep, should be on there...

    And maybe Angel?

Powerless was on the 'Live From Nowhere Near You' compilation. It's Mike, Stone, Cole Peterson and Chris Friel. You could also include Shame On You from Live From Nowhere Near You volume 2 (Mike, Stone, Cole, Chris and Pete Droge)

Without looking at collaborations with other artists or too many live tracks you could include any of the following:

    Chinese (demo)
    I've Got a Feeling
    Oceans (remix)
    Breath
    State of Love and Trust
    Small Town [Acoustic]
    Out of My Mind (live)
    I Got Id
    Long Road
    Sunburn
    Leatherman
    Anything In Between
    Puzzles & Games
    Foldback
    Harmony
    Thunderclap
    Man of the Hour [Demo]
    Rock Around Barack
    Lukin II (live)
    Of The Earth (live)
    Olé
    Mike's untitled PJ20 score

I don't get the feeling they record as many songs as they used to. From what I've read the 6 or 7 song ideas for the new record included a few Backspacer carryovers even.

Maybe, but I believe that they still have some left / spill overs from Riot Act, Binaural - I remember a few titles mentioned that never saw the light of day, with Leatherman 2 as the latest. I know that Riot Act had quite a few. And didn't Backspacer had the so-called "cigarette songs" (which I never believed btw, but who am I?)

So my tracklist so far, from what I read and here (and I disregard live versions for we have bootlegs for that):

    - Angel
    - Face of Love
    - Leatherman
    - Man of the Hour (demo)
    - Speed of Sound (demo)
    - Cold Concession
    - 2x4
    - Chinese (demo)
    - Wishing well
    - Ole
    - Hide Your Love Away
    - Crazy Mary
    - I've Got A Feeling
    - Leatherman II

    - Of the Earth
    - Santa Cruz
    - Santa God
    - Don't Believe in Christmas
    - Sonic Reducer
    - Someday at Christmas (for they included some christmas singles on the first Lost Dogs)
    - Against the Seventies
    - No More
    - Golden State
    - I'm Still Here

We are getting somewhere ;) We already have the cover with the nice purring little kitties.

Does anybody else remember the tracks that didn't make the final cut on Binaural, Riot Act, ST and BS? Or at least some of their names?

Ps: Undone was already on Lost Dogs

If they release another B-sides album (which I expect they wont), I hope its of songs I've never heard of before. Instead of songs that have already been released on the holiday singles.

I agree... But they included some christmas songs (Let me sleep, driftin, strangest tribe) on the last Lost Dogs. Besides, this is all just for fun... I am just curious about these songs we hear a title of every now and then (like Leatherman II), and that will then dissapear into deafening oblivion - they are never mentioned again. (Very sadistic, really...) I try to remember more of them. (Very sado-masochistic from my end - trying to remember titles of songs you will prob. never hear.)

Ps: and when a second b-side album will be released. I will def. buy it. I liked Lost Dogs. I like this whole rarity, odd-ball thing. And I especially liked it that it was a double CD. Fatal, Sad, Otherside, Hitchiker are by any means excellent songs. I had most of the songs on the album, but liked the way they changed things here and there. Like Wash or Alone for example. Or the lyrics in Hard to Imagine. (Did anyone notice the lyrical changes of "U" compared to the single version? The single was positive, while the Lost Dogs version was negative - I like that stuff.)

With PJ always ecpext the unexpected.

Last Soldier... They must have recorded a studio version of this.

Life at the Point of Now... was a title thrown around during the Avocado sessions I believe along with Of The Earth

Transcendental Mental Clarity... was played in part on the Immagine DVD, an Ed chanting track similar to Arc or The Canyon

Backspacer rumours were Shift, Dust, Forward Thinking, Cigarette Song (parts 1 and 2), Agree to Disagree, HIgh Crime, Yonder and In The Time of Man, but all these titles are unconfirmed.

    Completly agree...

I am curious about the Cigarette Songs - I always took them as a joke, for they were unconfirmed. What can the lyrics be? "Inhale, exhale and slowly die"... I 'just can't imagine good lyrics on these songs...

Does anybody know the other song titles of ST and Riot Act - especially the last one had loads, I believe...

I updated the first post, that way we can make a comprehensible list. The rules though: 1) only studio versions and 2) confirmed titles. This is after all Lost Dogs 2, Stray Cats 1 or whatever and *not* a bootleg...

I know that there are more song titles out there...

I get Catholic Boy as Jim Carroll re-recorded it with PJ for the S/T of the film (ie - it's not the same version as on his album) but I don't get Against The 70's?

Why put on a Mike Watt song off one of his albums? Eddie is on this song on Ball Hog & Tug Boat.
