Sorry, dropped the ball (puck) on this one...intended to but life got in the way. Traveling again this week and have some early calls so I dont think I'm going to get to watch the west games through tonight but will for sure get the early ones. In Atlanta the next few days....wondering if there will be other hockey fans at the sports bars or if I will need to ask them to put on the games when I walk in and they have basketball and stock car racing re-runs on. ;)

I'll let you know if I see a pool.

When was the last time Canada had 5 teams in the playoffs?

The Canucks are so desperate to try and get back all the fans they treated so poorly that they are now offering tickets for $16 CAD.

Is that $2 in real money?
    Sorry, bad joke.
Is that for a decent seat? Damn, hockey tickets are so pricey here. Want to sit lower bowl? Gonna cost you!
Been awhile, haha. But no, that was for the bleediest nosebleeds. The lower bowl prices are still criminal. ;)
Anyway.... as a Canucks person, I don't even belong in thread. How embarrassing.

not a huge fan of hockey during the year but I know the playoffs are good.

I grew up in columbus and all I'm hearing is how the 1st round matchups are incredibly fucked up...I think columbus and pittsburgh are #3 and #2....and the winner could end up playing #1? fucked up.

    go blue jackets.

Yeah, the playoff format since the division realignment is so fucking stupid. NHL really needs to fix that. Go back to 1-8 seeding for each conference.

They are trying to get back to the rivalries. It is a gauntlet -- if you keep watching year over year Wob, you will see how most of the teams are both gutted by the time the SCFinals roll around.
I go back and forth....I grew up in New England and it seemed like the Bs and Habs faced each other every other year in the playoffs and it was glorious.
That stated....seems a tough reward for a great season to have to play a top team.

Went to the bar near my hotel? Fucking ESPN on.
Bought a bottle of Ketel and am in the hotel room flipping channels, just like I would be at home.

I don't know if you were joking but the reason they are called Leafs is apparently because it was in honor of a Canadian military regiment during world war one named Maple Leafs

Sort of being facetious, but also curious as well. That's pretty cool. The Blackhawks were also named after a WWI infantry division.

Definitely need to go back to the 1-8 format. Division rivalries are made by playing... wait for it... intra-division regular season games.

They're killing my Wild. Up 2 - 0 and going back home. I always get so disappointed in the playoffs. Typical Minnesota fold, no matter what sport. We assembled such a good team 4 years ago, but have done nothing.
    It's a hopeless situation...
