    I've made trips to MN, KC, WI...time for  show I don't have to drive hours to.
    I hear you! It's quite nice to be able to sleep in your own bed after a great PJ show. I've only done it once however I didn't get much sleep because I had an early flight to Denver to see more PJ!

    With a toddler running around, my concert goings are very limited this summer.  Neko Case, Trampled by Turtles at the State Fair, and Hinterland Festival south of Des Moines will be all I'll be able to swing this year (maybe a Wrigley show if multiple things fall in place).

    My wife saw Janelle Monae a year or so ago in DC.  She enjoyed it.

    It is a great lineup!!!

    We went to this festival a few years ago and it was top notch. Solid lineup, very well run, and affordable. When they announced this year's lineup we jumped on the VIP tickets. Plus, it's only a 3 hour drive straight down 35.

    Hinterland is about 30 minutes from my house but I'll only be at Friday night due to a wedding on Saturday. Band of Horses is the main draw for me so it works out great that they are headlining Friday.

    Question for the MSP locals. We are going to Roger Clyne on the 3rd. I know from experience to NEVER enter the city on a Sunday, but what will I-94 be like entering on the 3rd and leaving the 4th? I'll be coming in from the West and know that it can be stop and go from St. Cloud to Rogers at times. Thanks!

    Over the 4th, the traffic from your direction should be minimal into and out of the Metro.  The metro area tends to empty out over the summer holidays. Now if you were doing the reverse, I'd say have fun sitting on the I-94 parking lot.

    I second that. and if you really wanted to, the 2nd would probably be the only Sunday where coming into the city wouldn't be a complete cluster.. thats a big MAYBE though. July 4th is on a Wed so it's up in the air for which weekend people choose to extend up north. Have fun at Roger Clyne!

    Thanks, guys! Now I need to find a bottle of Mekhong for him to sign. First Avenue said no outside booze, but empty bottles should be okay. Found a store in Hopkins that might have it.
