the shack

brought to her knees
slumped over in a puddle
torrential rains fall
grey skies and clouds surround
each rain drop echoes
in her ears...inward and outward
her long braided hair hangs
obscures her face
touching the ground
emptiness overflows
the form of tears and rain
her gaze falls to the earth
ripples reaching longing
to find home
the shack upon the side
of the road
