Royal Wedding . . . Are you watching?

Well, as I'm a night-owl anyway, thought I'd put it on the telly. Are you going to watch any of it?

I'm kinda excited about it. Of course, I've pretty much avoided reading or watching anything related to it since it was announced so I'm not feeling any pre-wedding fatigue.

Question to Brits - I just heard that it's a tradition for pubs to serve free alcohol for ten minutes after the bride and groom say I do and that it bankrupted 29 pubs following Charles and Diana's wedding. Is this true?

Well, I think the bride and groom look stunning. So does pretty much everyone else in their immediate family on both sides :) A truly happy occasion.

The interior shots of the Abbey are freakin awesome too :ugeek:

Hard not to watch it here. It's on every channel.

Luckily, Kate is quite easy on the eyes. Unfortunately, her dress was a real letdown.

just been watching it for like 4 hours with the family

definitely a great and beautiful wedding - her dress was stunning, everyone looked happy and relaxed

the best part was seeing the crowds of people in London, outside the palace
it's nice to see the community, the unity of people in celebrating something that's part of their country's history

The Queen only first met Kate's parents like a week ago.
She snobbed them because they are commoners.

My favorite part was seeing London, the city as the procession made its way.
This far more interesting to me now, tracing my family tree.
I have come to appreciate history.

The loveliness was all those people celebrating together.
Miles and miles of British flags being waved.
    Miles and miles of smiles.
And love was in the air!
We can certainly use much more of that :D

It also occurred to me how very much the Royals do for the people. The sacrifices they make.

If there is a nationality of common sense, of respecting what is proper, respecting history,
    it is the British.

Wish I was heading to one of their pubs to join in the celebration! 8-)
