Now that most of us have digested the Orpheum show (hope most have the cd and download tracks ), what are your thoughts as to the two shows? Do you prefer one over the other?
Atlanta is so tight; it seems the boys gave it their best shot knowingly being on national radio, and the Orpheum is a bit loose, seems like they are having some fun; perhaps it was finally a good night to unwind after all the turmoil of Kurt's death the previous week as well as seeing the President, about to go on SNL. I remember those few weeks in April 1994 very vividly after all these years . . . interesting and stressful time for our beloved band.
I have to say that I kinda like the Orpheum charm . . . perhaps its way to early to even decide which one I prefer, its not like one show is better than the other, but each has a specific tone and atmosphere.
. . . and man its great to hear Dave A's subtleties, a tiny cymbal crash here, a bass drum kick there, very good listening; Sonic Reducer rocks!

Listening to that show on a Bus as I type this out.. Even Flow sounds unreal.
Orpheum has a crazy setlist and some nice early Vitalogy songs, but IMO doesn't measure up to Atlanta.

The shows on that tour after George Mason University on 4/8/1994 were very dark, including Orpheum, so there are a totally different vibe between Atlanta and Orpheum. I'll say this, the darkness of the mood followed by the intensity of the music created some great shows at the Boston Garden and Orpheum. And for me "Immortality" and "Hard to Imagine" from Orpheum are my favorite versions of those songs i've ever heard live or in a studio.
Dave Abbruzzese just posted a video for "Hard to Imagine" from Orpheum, that song and "Immortality" from that show really connect with me.
I lived off the cassette that I taped off my boom box off the radio of the Atlanta show.
To this day, I hear and sing the songs as they were played in Atlanta.
I listened to that tape until it was worn out.
Atlanta is the best of all time.

There might be some consensus that Atlanta 1994 (at least) was one of their best shows ever.
I am still very curious about images from that show: http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/118338/1990s-concert-images#latest
That version of Indifference is hands down the best. Vedder changes the octaves ever so slightly to give it that punch.
Band is very tight during the WHOLE show.
