Noooo, not Maggie! I want her to keep going. Taking Glenn would be enough :rage:

I could see that. I don't think it's going to be just one of those 2 because the other one would have been freaking out and screaming in that scene with Negan/Rick talking.

i can't really see maggie going. she is pregnant (not that it matters on this show).

Well, like I said before, Negan is one messed up person that has supposedly killed people's children in front of them to prove a point. I don't see him really caring about the fact that she is pregnant. She's also sick and weak, so what use would she be to him? Rick's crew was out there to begin with bc they were trying to save her. That would be such the ultimate mind f*ck to Rick. I know she has a big role in future comics, but they could easily swap her out with someone else. It's going to be Maggie. Then Glenn will jump in to save her and he will be killed for trying to interfere.

Is she? When they got caught they were carrying her on a stretcher and she was having abdominal pain.

Bummer!! By the way, is there a posting etiquette for this thread? Or is it a don't look if you don't want a spoiler sort of thing...probably the latter. I'm sure even if there was an etiquette someone would post a spoiler anyway..lol nevermind..

^^^^ "I'm not takin' any chances" Rick Grimes

Anyone here read or know enough about the comic that thinks something might happen to a particular body part of Ricks in this episode? That is along with the "Lucilling" of someone.

Holy Hell that was AMAZING!!! TWD totally has been redeemed in my eyes. I was horrified, grossed out, scared and pretty much jumping out of my skin! Take away the almost unbearable interruption of commercials that started 4 minutes in (realllllly???) that was the best season opener ever!

^^^^One of them!! And, I really hate what Negan did and all, but he is such an awesome character!! He manages to be funny, amiable and maniacal all at the same time. He had poor Rick reduced to a puddle, again. And Negan's sh*t eating grin....

I watched it for the first time since season 4. It got way too repetitive for me and had a constant formula. Slow episode with meaningless wasted time, cliffhanger..... next episode, resolve cliffhanger, slow episode with meaningless wasted time, cliffhanger..... repeat to end of the season where they would have a large cliffhanger to keep everyone talking. I didn't care for any of the characters, take them or leave them. The ones I liked were already killed off/wasted in the first 2 or 3 seasons.

So last night. It was tense, but I didn't like it. Felt like sadism porn... and its disturbing that so many people enjoy that. There is enough bad shit in the world.

OK, the wait is over. Sorry to see both of them go....one was comic relief for me and the other was....well, he was an original.
Pretty brutal playing out of it...I imagine hard core fans probably cried. ;)

This series loves to draw things out as long as possible..almost half the episode before the death(s) reveal.
I was definitely taken back by the second, as I wasnt expecting it after not being too surprised at the choice of the first death.
And yes, with the eyeball, it was a bit much, even for this show.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

kudos to them for keeping the eyeball part in the scene. seven seasons in and so many fans still don't realize that this show is following a story? even his eye ball has a story.

Great episode all around....the acting is some of the best of any show i have ever seen and gutsy move with the Glenn death, although not to some of us like myself who delve into the comics and whatnot

ive been reading reviews online and cant believe that people are stunned by the graphic nature of this show...mind boggling that this episode is what pushed people over the edge

that's just smart marketing. You had to know they weren't going to reveal right away. they wanted to make sure everyone didn't check out the first 2 minutes and then switch back to football. the episode was amazing.

carl is going to grow up to be a badass. rick's balls will grow back. it might take a while, but they will.

yeah, they did a fantastic job of matching up negan's introduction to the show to the comics. mostly verbatim.

I think it's interesting that Daryl can basically do no wrong. On talking dead they did a poll that asked if daryl was responsible for glenn's death, and some 70% said no. um, he was totally responsible. negan's speech about what will and will not be tolerated lead directly to him killing glenn. I think the writers did a great job in trying to give the audience some conflict in their love for daryl. and he still came out with untouchable. LOL

I dont like the way the 'story' here was told that seems like an easy way out, and trades in good storytelling with selling 1,000 commercial slots. The reason I got away from the show was it relied on the 'formula' of cliffhangers too much.

That was a season finale episode. Its a cop-out bridging two seasons with that. Maybe have the Abraham guy killed at the end of last season, then the shocking 2nd one at the beginning of this episode. The amount of commercials was displeasing.

Its like America was anxious to see the 'killing' all year... and they proceeded to drag it out a bit more: "see who gets their brains smashed in with a barbed wire covered baseball bat..... right after a word from our sponsors!" I watched it. I didn't like it. It didn't make me feel good, or feel like following the story again. I guess I should have known what I was getting into...
Then to see all my acquaintances on social media fawn over the episode, calling it the 'best episode of anything ever'... and even a few people proclaiming they are "On Team Negan now"... makes me think people are a wee bit desensitized to witnessing a very graphic and brutal execution/murder in full HD.

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood lately, maybe just turned off by people's glorification/reactions... I don't know.

That was pretty wild. The way this show drags shit out drives you nuts. I was pissed at first when it looked like it was just Abraham who got taken out....felt like a cop-out after the ridiculous cliffhanger and the months of hype leading up to this episode. But then he took out Glen...holy shit! I don't read the comic books so I have no idea where it goes from here....I'd imagine there will be a big showdown between Rick's group and Negan....and I'm guessing they'll drag it out as long as possible.

It wasn't the 'made for tv' type show we watched in the 80s, but the bar has been moved.

At the end of the day, it's just a show and an escape, Mayday. It was gross and definitely played out... but given the dramatic turn of events for loyal viewers... it can be understood why it was done that way. Remember that this is a show about a zombie apocalypse- it's not exactly family viewing. Dont read too much into it.
