Eternal life...

5,000 years would be good enough for me, provided legitimate space travel gets invented within the next few hundred years. Because once I unlock the secrets of the universe, I think life would get to be a drag, you know? I think at that point, I would crash headlong into a comet and go out with a bang.

but would you still like pearl jam in 2500 years time

they would probably become a band that I only listen to every 100 years or so, but I would introduce Pearl Jam to other planets.

But what would you do if you found out that once your alive, you can only evolve, but never die?
The worring thing here is will your PJ shirts still fit?

Connor McCloud would disagree. Great thread by the way. I tend to think about things like this way too often.

Connor McCloud... wow... I haven't seen Highlander in the longest time... I'll have to Netflix that puppy. No... even better... I bet I can find a DVD copy of that on eBay for like 3 bucks.

    WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER
Words and music by Brian May

    There's no time for us
    There's no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams yet slips away
    from us

    Who wants to live forever
    Who wants to live forever....?

    There's no chance for us
    It's all decided for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us

    Who wants to live forever
    Who wants to live forever?

    Who dares to love forever?
    When love must die

But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
    And we can have forever
    And we can love forever
    Forever is our today
    Who wants to live forever
    Who wants to live forever?
    Forever is our today

    Who waits forever anyway?

Just bought a remastered copy of Highlander the other day for like $5.00, what a great movie and soundtrack, can't wait to watch it again.

I just bid $1.99 on it on eBay, with $3 for shipping and handling. I beat you by a penny, ha! :ugeek:

This is the underlying theme of a bunch of the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice....particularly Memnoch the Devil and Tale of the Body Thief. Good, thought provoking stuff :)

Would you rather live forever or find out if there is an afterlife? I'll take eternal life.

Exactly. Why don't Christians thank the murderers of this world for ending people's earthly suffering and sending them on their way to eternal bliss? They are doing the lord's work!

How would you like to go out? I think your name is on my list somewhere, but that doesn't mean I can't provide reasonable accomodations...

I'll take the ticker stopping at a ripe old age preferable while I'm napping after cocktails, sex and my favorite meal 8-)

When I first read that I thought it said 'tickler stopping at at ripe old age', I kind of got stuck at that and didn't read the end of the sentance. Thought a 'tickler' might be some kind of sex aid.

I would rather live forever though I think I missed my chance at being a vamp as the cut-off age is now 18 thanks to terrible twilight movies. Ann Rice did write some cool novels, now it's completely carried away if that's possible in the fiction world. i will check out those books you mentioned, thanks.
