present tense question

Does anyone have an idea what the chorus is during the crescendo at the end of present tense, it's been bothering me for years - sounds like 'a secret girl, a secret girl...'

    anyone else? i tried playing with the audio but that section alternates between both channels (no techie, so forgive any ignorance) and I played with the different frequencies but couldn't isolate the vocals..

    considering i've been reading this forum for 10+ years (listening to and going to concerts for much longer - yeah, don't contribute much), i think i'm justified bumping this for more input.. really, no one knows what the chorus is at the end?

    isn't it just "present tense" repeatedly, followed by some gibberish? that's what i've always gone with.

    I've always wondered this too. I thought it was "I'm seeing double".

    I'm now thinking it's "Ed's secret garden, Ed's secret garden". It fits lyrically with the song (do you see the way that tree bends) as well as with other songs where he refers to himself ("Ed's big sky home", "Paint Ed big", etc.). C'mon Ed, you could solve this little mystery.

    I've been wondering about this too!

    Some very logical guesses so far. "Ed's secret garden" really would jive with the theme :geek:
