Pearl Jam songs for my Mum?

So my mum is like 60, and I made her listen to Black and No More the other night. I told her what they were about she got quite into it and quite emotional (granted she had about a bottle of wine)

She even asked "Who writes their music?" I said" oh they do, mainly Eddie." She couldn't believe that Pearl Jam even with their heavy music carried a message.

So I am looking for acoustic tracks because others would be too heavy for her. Have the boys ever done acoustic Alive? That would be a goodie.

My old man on the other hand is a hard one to crack. He often says the music I listen to "sounds like pigs at the slaughter house", or that "Eddie sounds like he has swallowed razor blades" My Dad is a good bloke don't get me wrong, but he doesn't like my music one tiny bit :(

So any help with suggestions for my Mum would be good.

Cheers.

have you tried songs like Fatal or Elderly Woman? There's quite a few gentle ones she might like....

Not really, whenI was practicing putting a DVD together for her 60th, I made a practice one up putting Fatal on it with just a few photos of me, my sister and my mum. I will try again.

I have thumbing my way on her mp3 player and you've got to hide ur love away.

Yeh she doesnt mind it, but she won't listen to it for long. I play it all the time. Maybe I should get her when she has had a few.

My mum liked Thumbing My Way instantly.. I'd start there.

I played Nothingman to my Dad several years ago.

It always reminds me of my parents, so.....

He really appreciated it. Said "Those lyrics aren't bad" Guess it struck a chord with him too, eh ;)

Thinking of my own Mum... How about: Oceans, Indifference, Daughter, Off He Goes, Thumbing My Way, Down, Fatal, Hard To Imagine, Gone, Inside Job.

And then play her all of Ten.

    And all the rest.

    :D

My Dad's favorite song is Man of the Hour
My Mom's favorite song was I Am Mine, and she would have loved the Into the Wild soundtrack if she was around.:(

I'd say just hand her Benaroya or "the experiment" from Mansfield in '03.
