hey there - i was oscar! my gf was the count - and coming from outside of boston ourselves. for the record, we took off the entire costume for the show, waaaay too hot - plus, yeah, that would have been obnoxious to the people behind us (although, our seats were under the stairs in 305 in the last row, so i couldnt even stand up to block someone if i wanted to) :)

Dude your costumes were great!! Loved it! Glad it wasn't just me re: cig smoke. It was def rough!
  • Thanks to Pearl Jam and the city of Philadelphia for this incredible week-end !!!
Saturday's show was as good as Friday's with tons of rarities and as much sing-a-longs and famous rock songs...Keep on rockin' in the free world, big thanks for that one, coming from Ottawa, Canada we got the chance to waive our flag in section 320a. THe shows from the back were better than I expected, recommended way before being in the 300's at the other end. You're close to the stage, sound is good, you have a clear view of the floor and the fans in the section are more into it. Except for the one guy who slept half the show after a few puffs of some wacky-tobacco...had to shake'm up for Alive, lol

Vedder was right, I couldn't care less for any guest appearance, except if it would've been Uncle Neil, Pearl Jam for almost 4 hours is way better ! Too bad I missed No Way, Red Mosquito and Nothing as it Seems from that tour...they'll be alot more tours anyway, like their new slogan says : Pearl Jam Co. Built To Last !

    Bugs was so funny/cool
    Peace

Wow, This appears to have been an epic show, one for the ages. I wish I could have traveled down for it.

I am not really into the show posters as many fans are, but i would have purchased that 10/31 vintage. What a flippin' Riot !!

Hoping to grab a show on the other side...

First off, thank you to the 10club, I had KICK ASS tickets for all of these shows.

2nd row for the big finale, it was SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

All of the shows were awesome, loved the energy of the band, loved how they continually acknowledged the importance of the history of the Spectrum. Loved the fan fare at the end.

Just can’t say enough about what a fantastic week it was. I will forever have Mikey in my head doing the DEVO part, I was right in front of him and he was HILARIOUS. They all were. Ed was too cute with those glasses and that whip.

Thanks PJ for one of the greatest weeks of my life.

Oh and the band was staying across the street from where I was. I ran into Boom after the show on Friday and he could not have been nicer. He was laughing at me because I had no voice left. Hell after three shows, I don't know anyone had a voice left, let alone Ed.

I got to see Ed and Matt outside the hotel as well. It was like a circus out there with the Yankees and PJ in the same hotel. People were driving by in cars saying, what's going on.

Good times. Memories to last a life time for sure.

does anyone else think its wrong to like the PJ version of Crown of Thorns over Andy woods and MLB????

No - I like both, but I guess it boils down to whose voice you prefer singing it.

  • AMAZING show. This was a last minute trip for me, I decided to go as soon as I heard about Monday's show. I made another impulsive trip to Seattle last month and didn't think I could swing it again but I couldn't pass it up. I got tickets on Comcast while Wednesday's show was occurring and ended up front row directly next to the stage on Mike's side! Wow.. Being that close, nothing between me and the stage was absolutely unreal. I have a new love for Mike after watching him so closely. He puts everything into getting the crowd going and he's a fucking badass.

This was my 16th PJ show and by far the most unique- I have a hard time pinpointing my favorite show because they've all been incredible differently, but this was easily one of the top. It was like a mesmerizing concert, an epic goodbye, and a giant party all at once. RITFW was by far one of the greatest moments I've had at these shows. I've seen some pretty good pictures and video of that moment, but nothing comes close to being there covered in confetti. The band was having the most fun I've ever seen...Whip it was great. I was hoping while Eddie had the whip they would go right into Satan's Bed, but I was psyched to hear it anyway. I heard from Friday night's crowd that Jeremy with strings was great, and they were certainly right. I haven't enjoyed the song that much in a while. Pilate was another highlight for me, and definitely Sweet Lew.

I really was hoping Bruce would show up, but there's no way I could possibly complain about seeing 3 1/2 hours of an epic PJ show. Certainly a night I'll never forget. I can't wait for more

  • OK, i have never tried to play the drums in my life, but by my count, Matt was beating on that kit for at least 36 of the 42 songs Saturday night. Man, that's GOTTA be exhausting!!! But when he got up at the end of the show, he appeared to be reasonably ready to answer the bell again if called upon. What a trooper. Great show, bro.
And speaking of drummers, did anyone else notice the workout Brooks Wackerman gets in a short Bad Religion set? My GOD!!! These two guys both provided blistering thunderous backbeats while burning up some major calories that night. Thanks guys!

Good times. Memories to last a life time for sure.

we ran into Jeff outside the hotel during the off-day, and i couldn't resist telling him i thought he owned The Real Me at the 2nd show. he appreciated the compliment, and was in a talkative mood, so we spoke to him for a couple of minutes before we said thanks all around and he jumped into a cab. Boom and his wife walked by during the same time, and Matt speed-walked his way through as well.

oh, and Jeff also told us the band had self-imposed a "no signature" policy at the hotel while they were in town so as to keep a low profile,...

Incredible show and I don't really have much more to add except "wow" and this: that may be a crappy, run down, old dump of a building, but that was the best sounding concert I have ever heard anywhere.

very sweet of you to say that d2d. Sorry I missed you, and everyone, at the pre-parties, we kind of took it as it came last week and only made it to Tuesday's party, and briefly at that.

But it certainly was a week to remember. LOVE THIS BAND.

  • I flew in from Seattle on Friday night at 11:55pm. By the time Pearl Jam took the stage, I had been awake for 42 hours. What followed was 3.5 hours of complete and total amazement. They did it right. They took the Spectrum down with the best Pearl Jam show I've ever seen. It was my 12th show, and the 4th of this tour. What a night.

There's a reason I've always said the best concert - and bootleg - I've ever been to/heard was the 4/28/03 Spectrum show. Obviously that's been taken over now, but at least those who didn't believe me when I preached it before sure do now.

    Thanks Philly and Pearl Jam.

Flew in from Toronto and had the greatest time. Met some awesome americans, toured the city, went to Flyers game, and definetly watched the greatest shows I probably will ever witness. This was a weekend that I will never forget.
Was lucky enough to meet Boom in our hotel elevator on friday afternoon, said a few words and he told me your coming to see the best 2 shows possible with a big smile on his face. I knew then that this was going to be an unbelievable experience.

I have nothing bad to say about this weekend and the city. PJ/10C and PJ fans are definetly the best.

  • Incredible is all I have to say! The torch has been passed on to Pearl Jam as the best band in the world! I was raised on Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Who. I never thought a band would ever out beat Led Zeppelin as the greatest band ever, but after being present at Wednesday and Saturday night's shows I believe that Pearl Jam has taken over as the best band ever!
It truly was a gift to be there at the last show for the Philadelphia Spectrum. I have seen at least 50 shows there, and they truly saved the best for last! Thank you Pearl Jam for making my last night at the Spectrum so special.

I was at that show, feeling all warm and fuzzy and at home in the Spectrum, and I still listen to that boot often. I would never have argued with you. ;)

  • Certainly a fantastic send off for the spectrum! Best concert i was ever at. I went to 3 of the 4 - Wendesday, Friday and Saturday. Each night topped the previous night. I loved when they did Footsteps on Friday night. And on Halloween I think the highlight for me was to hear them do the Mother Love Bone "Crown of Thorns", which I guess was a tribute to their old friend Andrew Wood. These are the moments that make a concert special. I also really enjoyed that crazy song "BUGS". Eddie is such a great entertainer. Of course the ending with the SSB and all the tape and balloons falling down was just awesome. Thank you Pearl Jam, I am so glad I went to the final night. I had originally bought the 2 shows that were offered, and had been expecting the final night on Oct 30 Then of course they added 2 shows and the final night was to be Oct 31. Well after the show Friday I decided I had to come back again to see the final show on Saturday so I searched out tickets and couldn't be happier. Unless of course they took me on tour with them!!!
  • Hard to say this was the best show ever, because the crowd was DEAD!, after the main set, from section 319A, you could hear a pin drop, the WS def. played it's part in this. However, it was a FUN show, filled with rareities, and 41 songs? 3.5 hrs? Aw heck, it still was a great show.

For me it was what was the signature moment? BUGS? SWEET LEW? OUT OF MY MIND? Or was it WHIP IT?
Ed's glasses? Ed dribbling the basketball before Sweet Lew? ANyhow, very enjoyable and great way to close out the Spectrum. Thanks Pearl Jam for another great experience....

    AMAZING

Great set - great energy. I agree that the crowd was a bit dead after the first set - I think there was a lot of world series distraction. However, after that enthusiasm was back (and how could it not be..)

Definitely my most memorable concert. Fingers crossed for another EU tour in 2010...
