I noticed the thread on here about how great the version of Inside Job was, but what about the whole show? Ive been listening to it a great deal lately and I feel that is such an underrated show. Certainly a gem. Sure Ed dissed the show in San Diego, but on the boot he seems to be pretty content. An example is right before Ed sings Parachutes, he says it may not be all throat, but it will be all heart. How cool; then he performed the song greatly. There are a few flubs here and there(most shows have a few, its inevitable), but hell San Diego had a few mistakes as well. There are numerous great versions. Of course the best version of Inside Job to date. Sweet takes on World Wide Suicide, Grievance, Faithfull, Gone, Garden, Parachutes, State of Love and Trust(one of my favs), and the version of Black is pretty cool. One cant forget Little Sister. It really sounded like Ed was having a ball, not a bad time. I love the show. The whole band was on, despite Eds scratchy throat that actually led him to sing pretty damn good that night. Not to mention the boot sounds really good.
My first PJ show to witness was at Bonnaroo. How is that for lucky?

  • I love how deep Eddie goes when Fortunate Son starts and he says "this is for the birthday boy....the birthday boy". He sounds very dark and sinister.

Anyways, i think this a gem of a show. Ed was ill but you can only tell on one or two songs. Inside Job is the best version yet, Little Sister is fantastic, and they end the show with Fortunate Son into Porch which is just great!

This show was great!!!! I didn't think Ed sounded bad at all. I have to admit, since Ed was sick that night I was hoping for Mankind:)

YES, a total gem...and I totally love the "dark and sinister" Ed.

I'll be at the next Vegas show for sure!

  • Im glad this show is getting some love. It deserved it. This show also makes me think about here Ed is with a bad throat and not feeling well, but he still gives it his all and tries like hell to make the show as great as possible. When I went to see Ted Nugent a year ago his voice was pretty shot that night and his bassist had to sing A LOT. Not that this bothered me, as a casual fan(I believe him to be as good if not better hunter than musician), but it made me think of Ed and how truly great he is. Not only as my favorite singer, but as a great reliable musician. This show shows that. Hell, listen to WWS, Inside Job, and Black; even when he feels like shit he makes the show so powerful and awesome. Eds the man. Not to mention, the whole band really raised the bar that night. Im sure they knew Eddie didnt feel good and wanted to make the show as great as possible.

  • Just watched this last night. Loved Boom's piano and organ solos during Betterman, Black was epic, and loved hearing the bunch of rarities tehy threw out - Rats, Garden, Little Sister, Fortunate Son, and an amazing Porch to close.

    yES :)

    sO I have heard.
  • Wow, a DVD eh?

I'd luurve to get my hands on that one. I came from Jersey to see this show! I flew out and took my Dad (his first PJ show). Was great except for the 8 dollar beers!

Almost got the MGM to give the LARGE concert/tour poster that they had hanging around the casino. No luck however. I bet they just threw em out :(

Agreed. I was 13th row Mike side. If you were in 14th behind me, I was the guy who tipped over the row of chairs jumping during Comatose. Highly underrated show!

    So would I. :)

My wife and I got engaged right before this show. "Sick Ed" singing in 2006 is still better than most "non-sick Ed" singing in 2008-2012, if you measure this show against that time period. It's not all that bad. Little Sister was funny. One thing I remember at the show that I don't think most people caught on to was the "Cook him just to see the look on his face" part in the middle of Porch. Few weeks later they actually played Dirty Frank at the Gorge. Ed must have been practicing/listening to the old recording.
