Seems the way they've been doing it (when I've noticed anyway) is a band makes the cover an issue or two after the review appears. Happened in '06 with Avocado, Stadium Arcadium, Death magnetic last year I believe and so on.
Rob Sheffield is great though. Everyone should read his book "Love is a Mix Tape".
I think he did a great job at the review since we are all obviously biased
I agree about the reviewer, I realized Rob Sheffield was not your average snob reviewer when he said Radiohead's Amnesiac was chock full of "wussy ballads". I am not surprised he likes Backspacer.
In Sheffield's book, he writes that he hated Pearl Jam in the 90's because it was the cool thing to do at the time. He wrote that he actually liked them but told people he hated them or something. I suppose he has grown up since then but it was still lame to think that way. I remember there were alot of assholes like that in the 90's. Maybe I will try to read his book again.
