Red Mosquito-band fallen out of favor

Hey did you guys see Zack from Spin ask Jeff that they should play Red Mosquito and Jeff said that the band had fallen out of favor with this song? This I guess was while he was waiting outside of Amoeba records.

Well for my money, if we get no red mosquito, I would love for No Way, I know several kids have posted this on the board, damnit it needs to happen, start making signs at shows. Its interesting because this song would kill live. Oh well I can at least imagine what it would sound like. ;)

    Sheesh, "fallen out of favor"......sounds personal. I wonder if after a show one night the band and "Red Mosquito" were hanging out at a bar and "Red" had a couple too many drinks and started getting all belligerent. :lol::D

    just saw that - wow. Well... hopefully they get Breath then. That's an encore song that I really wish would make a comeback and overtake Crazy Mary ;)

    I heard Eddie won't play the song anymore since Ament started calling him Ed Mosquito after seeing him come out of the cold water after surfing.

    I was blown away when they played it in Albany in '06 - and they nailed it, too! It really made my night for a couple of reasons - one of my favorite songs of theirs and also never in a million years did I expect to hear it. Seems like that song hasn't been played much in the past decade, really, but I could be way off there.

    Sad to hear they might not play it much for now. Ah well.

    I almost guarantee they play Red Mosquito in San Francisco.

    It's a San Francisco song.

    Evenflow = a greatest hit
    Red Mosquito = a random song on an album that few casual fans still own, if they ever did.

    I agree with your assessment that I'd rather hear RM than E-flo, but I can understand why one gets the every night treatment and one doesn't.

    I saw them play NO WAY in Pittsburg 98. It was a long time ago, but I still remember how good it sounded.

    Just checked the band's song list with the "Number of Times Played" stats . . .

    The 4 songs off of albums (including Lost Dogs) that have been played THE LEAST?

      Fatal No Way Push Me Pull Me Undone

    All with 3 plays each. Of these . . . No Way has been on the shelf the longest. Last played on The Yield Tour, at the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre on September 7, 1998. it's been almost 11 years since they played it live!!!!

    So all that to say, don't hold your breath for it to be played anytime soon . .. why would they suddenly break it our now? Not that I don't hope they do, but the stats aren't in our favour.

    That's a damn shame. It might be their best song. Then again, Ed used to sing 'glorified version of i hate this song' and often said he'd never play it again... but they pull it out now and again.
